TUT warns of ‘limited space’ for late applications

The Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) will publish a list of available courses for late first year applicants on Monday.

The institution has freed up spots for students who have yet to apply, but is adamant that no walk-in applications will be accepted.
TUT's spokesperson Willa de Ruyter says a list of all available courses will be made available online tomorrow. She warns that space at the institution is very limited.
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) are encouraging students to pitch up and register at the institutions of their choice, following the announcement of free tertiary education by President Jacob Zuma.

"We urge students not to come to our campuses. The only applications we will accept must be done online, and will be available tomorrow. I spoke to the people at student admissions this morning and they said there is very little space available. We also urging students to check throughout January whether more spots become available as some that applied don't pitch," de Ruyter says.
Placements for prospective students will conclude on Sunday and will determine how many spots are available in the various faculties.

"The list will be tomorrow on the website," de Ruyter says. "We will see where space is available. We see this time of the year space available at the Emalahleni campus. It might not be the students' first choice but it's a great start to start with their studies."
