Two in court for Eastern Cape rape
Updated | By Catrine Malan

The matter was postponed to September 5 for a formal bail application, Captain Jackson Manatha said. The pair would remain in police custody.
The men, aged 18 and 27, were arrested on Saturday night.
A group of five men approached the woman and her boyfriend as they were walking in Dutywa town around 11pm on Saturday. They allegedly demanded money and cellphones from the couple.
"When they could not get anything, the boyfriend was severely beaten by the suspects and he ran, leaving his girlfriend behind," Manatha said.
He spotted a patrolling police car and alerted officers to the attack.
"The second suspect was found still raping the woman whilst the first suspect who raped the woman was still at the scene," Manatha said.
