Two pregnant women killed in Johannesburg crash
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
Two pregnant pedestrians have been killed after a car hit them on the N14 in Johannesburg on Wednesday afternoon.
The horrific accident happened at around 14:50.
Netcare 911 says reports from the scene indicate the woman had just visited a nearby maternity clinic when they were hit while trying to cross the busy N14.
Spokesperson Chris Botha says: "The patients were flung about fifty metres before they landed in the centre median. Tragically it was found that both patients died on impact due to the extensive injuries that they sustained."
He says the crumpled remains of the vehicle involved had come to rest about 100 metres down the road.
Police are expected to investigate the exact cause of the collision.
