Unmarked cop cars in Limpopo ‘part of festive season anti-crime campaign’
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
Limpopo police have sought to ease concerns over police officers driving around in unmarked vehicles in the province.

Several voice notes have been doing the rounds, warning residents against armed people in VW Golfs terrorising community members.
But provincial police spokesperson Motlafela Mojapelo says the cars are being driven by law enforcement officers and not criminals.

"We are already in the midst of the festive season period and police deployments have been heightened across the province to deal with criminal activities that often increase during this time.
"Police use both marked and unmarked vehicles when fighting the scourge of crime," Mojapelo explains.
"We, therefore, urge motorists and community members in general, not to be alarmed by these voice clips on social media as these are law enforcement officers doing their job and not criminals impersonating police officers."
Mojapelo says police are aware that some criminal have taken to impersonating police officers with the aim of attempting to commit a crime.
