VIDEO: Bloemfontein school closed after violence

A school in the Heidedal area in Bloemgfontein, Free State was Wednesday morning closed due to violence.
According to reports, the school was the target of gang violence. It's also been alleged that various schools have been raided by gangs recently, who rob school children of their cell phones and clothes.
According to OFM News police are investigating a charge of attempted murder after a young man was attacked by members of the community at the Petunia Secondary School in Heidedal.

Police spokesperson Zweli Mohobeleli said the young man was attacked because he was believed to be part of a gang.
OFM News reported that parents rushed to the school to pick up their children following the incident just after 08.00am.
The police denied reports that the violence was spreading to other schools.
No arrests were reported by the time of publication.
