[WATCH] Cosatu: Law enforcement must act on VBS, Bosasa scandals
Updated | By Neo Motloung
The Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu) has condemned the spate of political killings in Vhembe District Municipality, Limpopo.
The federations general secretary Bheki Ntshalintshali briefed the media on the outcomes of the trade union federation's Special Central Committee (SCEC) on Tuesday.
He said the federation believes South African Municipal Workers Union (Samwu) and Cosatu leaders are being targeted for supporting the fight against those implicated in the looting of VBS Mutual Bank .
The bodies of two outspoken VBS critics, Roland Mani and Tshililo Tshimangadzo, were both recently found in the Vhembe district.
“Cosatu will go out and continue to expose those who are implicated on corruption which includes the VBS saga,” Ntshalintshali said.
Ntshalintshali called on law enforcement agencies to start investigating the allegations emerging from the commission of inquiry into state capture.
The federation wants officials implicated to recuse themselves from the ANC's national and provincial elections list.
“The ANC has enough capable and honest people in its ranks and it should not be recycling compromised and tainted characters," said Ntshalintshali.
