[Watch] Julius Malema warns Ramaphosa against 'constitutional delinquents' in new cabinet

Leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) Julius Malema has warned President Cyril Ramaphosa against deploying 'constitutional delinquents' into his cabinet.

Malema was speaking at the Loftus Stadium ahead of the presidential inauguration. Speculation is rife over who will be included in cabinet.

"We don't care who's the president. All we care about is are you honourable enough to sit with us in Parliament as honourable members. Once you are dishonourable like Pravin (Gordhan), you can't sit in that Parliament because the EFF will not allow constitutional delinquents to sit in Parliament.”

On Friday, Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane ordered that Ramaphosa act against Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan for violating the constitution.

This follows an investigation into allegations of maladministration and impropriety against Gordhan, for the approval of former South African Revenue Service deputy commissioner Ivan Pillay's early retirement with full pension benefits.

"As far as we are concerned with regard to a judgement against Pravin, we think it is an honest judgement.

"The EFF is going to defend this report of the public protector against Pravin. It must be implemented, the president must respect the chapter 9 institutions and tell Pravin 'do an honourable thing and tell South Africa you are not available',” said Malema.

Malema added that if Gordhan is included in the new cabinet, Ramaphosa will be similar to his predecessor Jabob Zuma.

"You will know that he is also a constitutional delinquent, which has got no respect for the constitution."
