WATCH: Mduduzi Manana’s resignation video
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
Higher education deputy minister Mduduzi Manana has released a video in which he apologises to all South Africans and announces his resignation.
There’s been a cloud of controversy hanging over the minister’s head following a video in which he is seen assaulting a woman at a Fourways restaurant.
Earlier in August, Manana apologised for his behaviour citing extreme provocation.
He was released on R5000 bail after appearing in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court on 11 August.
He is facing two counts of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
The case was postponed until September for further investigation.
Calls have been mounting for Manana to resign.
