WATCH: Mooikloof substation goes up in flames
The Tshwane Metro says on X that the fire at the Mooikloof substation led to a trip at the Nyala in-feed station.
The fire affected electricity supply to the Mooikloof and Wapandrand supply areas.
This includes a vast part of Pretoria East.
The City said in the early hours of Thursday morning that a team is investigating the cause and the damage and that a further detailed update will be released as soon as more information is available.
*At time of publication there was no confirmation yet from the City on the course of the fire or the extend of the damage, Estimated time for power recovery has not yet been established.
