[WATCH]: Notorious 'White House' demolished in Sunnyside
Updated | By Lindiwe Mpanza
The City of Tshwane demolished the notorious building, known as the 'White House" in Sunnyside in Pretoria on Wednesday morning.

This follows an outcry by residents that the building has become a drug den and haven for criminals in the area.
Residents and students have fallen victim of criminal activity that is said to have its origin at that premises.
Spokesperson for the Department of Community Safety in Gauteng, Pinkie Numa, says residents of Sunnyside took the initiative to engage the municipality, leading to the decision to demolish the building.
In September, Gauteng Premier David Makhura and Community Safety MEC Faith Mazibuko demanded that police continue with intensified anti-crime campaigns until the 'White House' is destroyed.
