Water restrictions in Tshwane
The City of Tshwane confirmed that water restrictions will be implemented in the city until further notice.
According to the City of Tshwane they were issued with a notification from Rand Water, yesterday that the water supply pipeline servicing the City of Tshwane, Ekurhuleni and Johannesburg is under severe strain.
The increased water demand is caused by high temperatures thus necessitating the temporary water restrictions.
Water restrictions include the following:
- Watering/irrigation of gardens with hose-pipes or sprinkler systems from 06h00 to 18h00;
- Washing of vehicles with hose-pipes; and
- Filling of swimming pools.
Consumers have been urged to use water sparingly and should the above restrictions not be adhered to, the situation may worsen.
