We have a big task ahead of us: Ramaphosa

He was speaking at the first day of National Health Education & Allied Workers Union's (Nehawu) National Congress in Boksburg.

"We still need to transform our country and deliver to our people that national democratic society, the end state that we all aspire to achieve," says Ramaphosa.

The deputy president says the current weaknesses in the tripartite alliance need urgent attention.

"We are not as strong as we used to be. We are not as united as what we used to be. We need to look at ourselves, because we are the hope and the trust our people have," says Ramaphosa.

Ramaphosa once again called for action to be taken on allegations of state capture, saying President Jacob Zuma's announcement of an inquiry is a step in the right direction.

"The South African Communist Party has been saying that the only way we can get to the root of this is to have this commission appointed. Now the president has agreed that this commission is going to be appointed and all we are waiting for is for the announcement to appoint the commission. That is when the whole truth will come out."
