WEATHER: Dry and windy conditions persist

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over parts of the North-West, Free State, KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng as well as the south-western parts of the Limpopo and Mpumalanga Provinces.

Strong winds are expected over the eastern parts of the North-West Province as well as the northern and north-eastern parts of the Free State Province.


Gauteng: Hot in the north otherwise fine, warm and windy, becoming party cloudy in the afternoon.

Mpumalanga: Very hot in the Lowveld otherwise fine and warm to hot, becoming partly cloudy in the south from the afternoon but cloudy in the south-east overnight.

Western Cape: Cloudy and cold to cool with isolated showers and rain but scattered along the extreme south-west and south coast. It will become partly cloudy over the northern and western parts in the afternoon.

Eastern Cape: Partly cloudy and cold to cool but cloudy with isolated showers and rain in the south. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh westerly to south-westerly, reaching strong in places, becoming south-easterly overnight.

KwaZulu-Natal: Hot in the west, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm with isolated showers and thundershowers mainly from the afternoon. It will become cloudy along the coast and adjacent interior by the afternoon spreading to the west by the evening.
