WEATHER: Heat wave hits Gauteng, North West, Limpopo and Mpumlanga

A heat wave with persistently high temperatures is expected in Gauteng, North-West, in places over the Mpumalanga escarpment and Limpopo from Friday, until at least Monday.

Hot and humid weather will result in extremely uncomfortable conditions in the Lowveld of Mpumalanga and Limpopo, Limpopo Valley and the Western Bushveld of Limpopo.
Gauteng: Very hot in the north, otherwise partly cloudy and hot with late afternoon isolated showers and thundershowers.

Johannesburg: 16 / 33
Mpumalanga: Fine and hot but very hot in places in the Lowveld and the Western Bushveld. It will become partly cloudy in the afternoon with isolated thundershowers in the Highveld.
Mbombela: 19 / 32
Emalahleni: 15 / 33
Limpopo: Fine and hot but very hot in places in the Lowveld and the Western Bushveld. It will become partly cloudy in the afternoon with isolated thundershowers in the south-west.
Polokwane: 20 / 32
North West: Very hot in the west, otherwise fine and hot becoming partly cloudy in the east with isolated late afternoon thundershowers.
Rustenburg: 18 / 35
Free State: Very hot in the north-west, otherwise fine and hot becoming partly cloudy in the east with isolated late afternoon thundershowers.
Bloemfontein: 15 / 36
Northern Cape: Fog patches along the coast at first, where it will be cool, otherwise fine and warm but partly cloudy and hot to very hot in places over the north.
Kimberley: 15 / 39
Western Cape: Cloudy and cool with rain along the south coast and adjacent interior, otherwise fine and warm but hot in places over the interior.
Cape Town: 18 / 27
Eastern Cape: Fine and warm to hot north of escarpment, but cloudy and cool in the south with isolated showers in places but scattered in the south-west.
Port Elizabeth: 14 / 21
KwaZulu-Natal: Morning fog over the interior, otherwise partly cloudy but cloudy in the south and warm but hot in the north-west. Scattered showers and thundershowers are expected, but isolated in the south-west.
