City of Johannesburg mayor Geoff Makhubo says the consultation process to rename William Nicol Drive to Winnie Madikizela-Mandela Drive is in its final stage.
Public engagements on the renaming of the road started on March 29.
Makhubo had previously said that the decision to rename the street to the struggle stalwart was made on her 84th birthday.
On Easter Friday, he addressed delegates at a wreath-laying ceremony during the third commemoration of the funeral of struggle veteran Madikizela-Mandela.

Makhubo has added the executive wants to ensure that the renaming process is completed within the next two months.
"We remember her work. We salute her and from her we emulate the deeds in serving the people of Johannesburg, Gauteng and South Africa," said Makhubo.
He was joined by President Cyril Ramaphosa at the ceremony.
