Woman arrested for dumping newborn baby

A woman has been arrested after the body of a newborn baby was tragically discovered in Lenasia.
The body was found in a bin in southern Johannesburg on Monday morning, police confirm.
Provincial police spokesperson Kay Makhubele says: "A 23-year-old woman has been arrested after police found the body of a newborn baby, wrapped in a plastic bag, in a bin."
He says police had received a tip-off.
"The woman is believed to have thrown the baby into the bin," explains Makhubele.
She is set to appear in court on a charge of child abandonment soon.
