A woman has been arrested in connection with the beating to death of a man accused of robbing a paraffin shop in Diepsloot last year, police said on Sunday.

Warrant Officer Daniel Mavimbela said the 28-year-old woman was arrested on Friday in Diepsloot extension seven in connection with the man's killing, which happened on December 16.
On December 16, four armed men allegedly robbed a substantial amount of cash from the paraffin business.
Residents gave chase and caught three of the suspects, beatingo ne of them to death. A fourth suspect escaped.
The woman would face a charge of murder when she appeared in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court.
Mavimbela said police were investigating allegations that the woman also intimidated an eyewitness and could have been involved in at least one other incident of "mob justice" in Diepsloot.
Another man has already been charged with the murder in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court and was denied bail.
Two of the killed man’s alleged accomplices in the robbery of the paraffin shop were rescued from the angry residents, arrested and charged with business robbery.
"Our message is very clear, as much as we appreciate that residents are taking the responsibility by apprehending suspects who commit crime in their presence, we will not tolerate street justice and will continue to act against perpetrators thereof," Mavimbela said.
