Gauteng police have confirmed the release on a warning of a Benoni woman who was arrested for a racist rant on social media.
Remarks by 60-year-old Belinda Magor, who called for black people to be killed and banned instead of pit bulls, have been met with shock and disgust.
Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi opened a criminal case against Magor on Friday.
Gauteng police spokesperson Brenda Muridili says Magor will be appearing in court next year.
“A case of crimen injuria was opened on 25 November 2022, at Boksburg North and transferred to Putfontein Police Station for investigation.
“The suspect aged 60 years old was arrested and released the same day on a warning to appear in court on 27 March 2023.”
