Workers down tools at Durban's popular uShaka Marine World
Updated | By Mapaballo Borotho
uShaka Marine World CEO Ndabo Khoza on Friday confirmed that the theme park will shut down on Monday until further notice.
Workers are set to down tools due to a wage dispute between the theme park and municipal workers union Samwu.
Khoza said the two parties were unable to come to a settlement, therefore the matter is being referred to the Commision for Conciliation Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) for intervention.
"uShaka Marine world will be closed due to sudden negotiations that have been taking place between samwu and the entity itself.
"However, the entity will do its best to limit any inconvenience caused by the industrial action.
"We will keep the stakeholders informed on every development," he said.
