'As wide as a road and as long as a train,' were some of the phrases used to describe the world's most expensive Bonsmara bull.

The Bonsmara bull, LAR 14-173, was sold at an auction near Dundee in KwaZulu-Natal for R1.8 million.
Founder and owner of the UP Geroge Bonsmaras, Derek Ralfe says the four-year-old bull was bought by seven breeders.
"The bull is still with me at the moment. We are busy taking semen from it and then it will be distributed semen between them. If you send the bull now, the traveling will affect its stress and the bull itself," says Ralfe.
The bull received a five-star rating for it's breeding values.
