Zuma wishes law enforcement agencies well over festive season
Updated | By ANA
South African President Jacob Zuma on Thursday extended his support to law enforcement agencies as they ready themselves for the festive season and with many holidaymakers already on the road and at popular destinations around the country.
We have directed the police, traffic officers and all in the criminal justice system to help ensure that there is safety and security during the festive season. We urge the public to support them in the execution of their duties. We extend our support and good wishes to all our law enforcement officers throughout the country. They will be working long hours as they protect the nation,” Zuma said in a statement
The President also extended his good wishes and support to health professionals and emergency care workers, all of whom also work long hours during the festive season.
Zuma also extended a warm welcome to international visitors who come to South Africa during the festive season to “enjoy the South African summer, beautiful scenery and top class facilities”.
“We urge South Africans to show visitors the warm hospitality that we are known for and make their visit pleasant and memorable. Tourists contribute immensely to economic growth and job creation. They also serve to market our country when they go home,” said Zuma.
