A number of videos are doing the rounds showing Motaung attending parties during what seems to be the lockdown period.

“The club has been involved in the internal processes of investigating his conduct, which led to the decision to suspend him,” Chiefs said in a statement.

“With the Covid-19 pandemic, our processes have been intensified and stringent measures have been put in place to ensure the club and its members play a role in the curbing of the spread of the virus and flattening the curve.”

Motaung will remain on suspension until at least the end of August.

“Even though he has tested negative on four occasions for Covid-19 during the club’s mandatory tests, he is ordered to remain home and self-quarantine during this time,” the club added.

The news comes as Chiefs step up preparations for the resumption of the PSL season next week.
