Pirates legend Mhlongo joins coaching staff
Updated | By Jacasport
Orlando Pirates have added former club captain Benson Mhlongo to their coaching staff as an assistant coach.
The Chairman of
Orlando Pirates Dr. Irvin Khoza, expressed his delight at giving an opportunity
to not only a former Club Captain but most importantly a young South African
Coach.
Pirates Academy Director Augusto Palacios has taken over the head coaching duties in an interim capacity following Wednesday's dramatic exit of Muhsin Ertugral in the wake of a 6-1 thrashing by SuperSport United in an Absa Premiership clash.
Ertugral resigns as Pirates coach
“It is important for us to move on from the disruption that has necessitated the changes made to the Technical Team. To this end we have also brought in Benson Mhlongo as the second Assistant Coach”, said Dr. Khoza.
“With the experience of Augusto Palacious and the enthusiasm of our Assistant Coaches Bradley Carnell and Benson Mhlongo, I am confident that we have a capable Technical Team that can take this team forward”, concluded the Chairman.
