South African diver Johan Potgieter’s GoPro camera footage went viral after winning a competition as one of the best moments captured by GoPro cameras.
Potgieter was 19 meters under the water near Skipskop reefs off Cape Town, when suddenly he spotted a great white shark heading towards him.
The harrowing footage has shocked many, as it's exactly what many divers, surfers and swimmers fear most. As he returns to the surface he can be heard screaming “white! white!!”.
The shark follows him and still circles below his flippers.
