You've probably seen the majestic art of mermaiding, which sees people wearing, and often swimming in, a costume mermaid tail for entertainment.

Although it seems extremely fun, like anything, it also has its fair share of dangers.

Drive with Rob & Roz recently shared a video of a South African mermaid whose tail got stuck while she was displaying her mermaid skills at the Cresta Mall aquarium.

A viewer who was close to the tank managed to capture a video of the moment when the mermaid went from tranquil to terrified as she struggled to get the constricting tail off and swim up for air.

Luckily, Nokukhanya escaped the ordeal and in a follow-up video, she shared her experience with concerned social media users.
