Woman reveals basic salary of private school teacher
A South African woman recently shared a private school teacher’s payslip on TikTok.
A recent video shared on TikTok garnered over 150,000 views and 4,000 likes after a woman shared a private school teacher’s payslip.
The TikToker, Boni, revealed that the payslip belonged to a teacher at a private school in Cape Town.

Boni and many TikTok users were impressed with the pay, which revealed that the teacher earns about R49,000 per month.
The payslip also revealed that the educator gets medical aid and a pension fund.

According to talent.com, a job search platform, the average salary for a teacher in South Africa is about R252,000 per year or R129 per hour.
Entry-level positions start at R168,000 per year, while most experienced workers make up to R568,829 annually.
