It may seem strange to many that some people enjoy a good fright, whether it comes in the form of a horror movie or a fake haunted house.
You don't have to be a believer in all things mystical and freaky to enjoy the stories that are connected to real places.
Even if the Uniondale ghost is pure fiction, you might feel a bit strange driving through that area, or even not risk it all. Just to be safe.

There are many more haunted places that you might want to avoid, so we put together a little list.
Kempton Park Hospital, Johannesburg
Probably one of the most famous locations amongst South Africans and for good reason.
The hospital was shut down on the 26th of December 1996 and remains abandoned. There is still machinery, handprints, and other hospital-related items scattered around the building.
It is not open to the public.

Melrose House Museum, Pretoria
The Phoenix Paranormal South Africa (PPSA), a paranormal activities group, claims that they have been pinched and pushed in this 136-year-old mansion.
The attic is apparently where most of the paranormal experiences can be expected.
The three-storey house was also the headquarters of the British soldiers during the Anglo-Boer War, so there is a lot of history between these walls.

The Breytenbach Theatre
After its establishment it was taken over by Emily Hobhouse, who turned it into a craft school. In 1918, it was turned into a temporary hospital to assist those affected by the flu epidemic. Many years later it became the theatre it is today.
According to various sources and paranormal investigators, the actors are sharing their stage with a nurse named Heather.
Heather oversaw the children who were admitted before succumbing to the disease herself and since that day she has chosen never to leave her post, waiting on more sick patients who might need her care.
