South African airports make list of top 10 in the world
If you are travelling soon you might want to consider making use of these airports.
It's that time of the year when South Africans are making their way to warmer climates.

While the southern hemisphere is trying to get away from the winter chill, northern hemisphere travellers are also looking to spend their summer vacations abroad.
When you are travelling, it is comforting to know that the areas where you might be staying for a lengthy layover or quick stop are up to standard.

AirHelp Inc. is a company that helps protect air passenger's rights, and through research, they have created a list of the best and worst airports in the world.
AirHelp worked with outside sources that tracked on-time performance, customer feedback, and the quality of food and shopping options at 239 airports worldwide. By using this data, they created the rankings.
Punctual arrivals and departures at these airports made up 60% of the overall scores.

According to BusinessTech, the data was collected from 1 May 2023 to 30 April 2024 and included 17,550 airport ratings collected by passenger surveys from 64 countries.
The top 10 list had some surprises.
Taking the second spot on the list of best airports is the one-and-only Cape Town International Airport!
It got a comfortable 8.5 out of 10, only 0.02 points behind the number one.
The airport with the highest ranking was the Hamad International Airport in Qatar, which was ranked fifth in 2023.

In the USA, the highest-ranking airport is the Salt Lake City International Airport, which came in at number eight, making it the best in the country.

- Lisbon Humberto Delgado Airport (Lisbon, Portugal) - 6.59
- Antalya Airport (Antalya, Turkey) - 6.58
- Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport (Belgrade, Serbia) - 6.53
- London Gatwick Airport (London, United Kingdom) - 6.53
- Heraklion Airport (Heraklion, Greece) - 6.51
- Tunis Carthage Airport (Tunis, Tunisia) - 5.35
