Not only is he embarking on an incredible world tour with his show 'Trevor Noah: Off The Record' but he has now received one of Europe's most prestigious awards.

The Erasmus Prize "is awarded annually to a person or institution that has made an exceptional contribution to the humanities, the social sciences or the arts in Europe and beyond. The award consists of a cash prize of €150,000".

Emphasising the importance of tolerance, cultural pluriformity and non-dogmatic critical thinking, the Foundation endeavours to express these values by choosing its laureates. The Erasmus Prize is awarded by the Board of the Praemium Erasmianum Foundation. His Majesty the King is Patron of the Foundation"

The Praemium Erasmianum Foundation recently released a statement announcing that the latest laureate for the prize is our very own Trevor Noah.

What makes this achievement even more special is that the prize has only ever been given to a humorist/comedian once before in 1965 when the iconic Charlie Chaplin was honoured.

This places Noah in some pretty outstanding company.
