The only thing that could make it worse is having your embarrassment broadcast to thousands of viewers across the world.

BBC News Chief presenter Maryam Moshiri recently had this happen to her. Unfortunately, it was amplified by the fact that she basically swore on live television.

Moshiri was caught off-guard with her middle finger in the air aimed straight at the camera during a recent live broadcast:

Since her slight slip-up, the moment has gone viral with it being used in memes, gifs, and videos.

She has also since apologised for her actions, posting a lengthy statement on X, explaining the full story behind the hilariously unfortunate moment:
