Kitchen Cures for Colds & Flu - do they work?

Some of us prepare for the cold and flu season by getting a flu-shot, many make use of over-the-counter medication but then there are some who opt for herbal home remedies or kitchen cures.


When #HighSchoolHits presenter, Renaldo Schwarp came down with a cold this week, his grandmothers homemade-’doepa’ came to the rescue.

The next time you're laid up with a stuffy nose or fever, reaching for natural ingredients in your kitchen might just be the remedy you needed.


A few commonly known ingredients that help with colds & flu:

  • Raw garlic
  • Tumeric
  • Honey
  • Ginger
  • Apple cider vinegar
