Accidental killings on movie sets are not frequent, but there have been a few over the years

The Crow

One of the most well-known accidents is the unfortunate death of Brandon Lee in 1993. The actor was a martial arts legend and the son of Bruce Lee.

The actor was killed while filming 'The Crow' due to negligence. An actor fired a gun on Lee that was supposed to contain blanks. However, the gun had a bullet, which ultimately killed Brandon Lee.

The Jumper

Everyone might not know, but a set dresser was killed in this 2008 sci-fi movie that starred Samuel L Jackson. David Ritchie, a 56-year-old man, was killed when frozen sand and ice fell onto him. 

Twilight Zone: The Movie

This movie saw more than one person killed on set. Actor Nick Morrow and two Vietnamese children were killed when a helicopter crashed on them. 

This is known as the most tragic case of this nature in Hollywood.

The Captive

An extra in this movie by the name of Charles Chandler was killed in 1915 by a bullet to the head. 

It is believed a bullet was left in a gun used by soldiers to give the scene a more accurate effect.

With the recent Alec Baldwin accident, we are sure film sets will be doing triple checks in the future.
