An image of an adorable dog has gone viral because it looks like his head has been cut off thanks to an optical illusion.

In the image shared by Reddit user Nathan Sievers, you can see what looks like an Australian Shepherd dog's head lying on a ledge.
Thankfully the dog was completely fine, and the effect was caused by the type of stone the ledge and the ground behind the dog were made of.

The dog's owner commented: "He rested his head on the ledge and laid down so when I took the picture all you could see what his head floating there.”
