WATCH: Jaw surgery completely transforms woman's face
A 23-year-old woman's TikTok has left people stunned over her before and after transformation.
Jax shared a time-lapse video of her journey to having total temporomandibular joint replacement surgery - and it is absolutely incredible.
Temporomandibular joint disorders impact the jaw’s joints and can cause a lot of ailments. In Jax's case, she suffered from idiopathic condylar resorption, which affected the shape of her face and caused various medical issues. She struggled to chew food and sometimes struggled to breathe.

“I could not bite into food, it was hard to chew food, obviously I was in a lot of pain … when [my lower jaw] went back, it would close up my airway and I couldn’t breathe,” Jax explained in a video.
To repair this, Jax had surgery in December 2020 to replace the temporomandibular joint with a titanium jaw that helped properly align her teeth.

A week after the surgery, Jax was able to remove her bandages and show off her transformation. She shared in the video that she could feel the changes almost immediately.
