Prince Harry and Meghan Markle sent shockwaves worldwide during their tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey after they claimed that there were concerns raised about the colour of their then-unborn son, Archie.

Markle revealed that “concerns and conversations about how dark his (Archie's) skin might be when he’s born” were brought up to her husband ahead of her son’s birth. Winfrey’s shocked reaction: "What?"

“You’re not going to tell me who had that conversation?" Winfrey asked Meghan.

 “I think that would be very damaging to them,” Markle continued.

A royal expert and author Lady Colin Campbell said that the pair were perhaps referring to Queen Elizabeth II’s daughter Princess Anne when they spoke about racism in the family.

"There were no concerns about Meghan’s colour. Princess Anne was rightly concerned that if the marriage proceeded and there were children there would be huge problems.”

According to Lady Colin Campbell's published YouTube video, Princess Anne said that Meghan “actually has no respect for the institution into which she was marrying and the family in which she was marrying."

“Nobody is the guilty party in terms of racism. But Princess Anne was the champion in terms of ‘don’t marry that girl, she is unsuitable. She is wrong for the country, wrong for the job’,” Lady Colin Campbell said.
