Those who just can’t get enough of the Jurassic Park movie franchise are only too glad to find out that they have the option to delve deeper into the world of the film courtesy of the Universal Studios theme parks.

For hours on end, you can fancy yourself an intrepid scientist or an expert on reptiles, and if dinosaurs are not your thing, there are many other fantastical worlds that you can lose yourself in.

For around 60 visitors to Osaka’s Universal Studios theme park, the option of discovering new worlds was taken off the table while they hung upside down from the seats of the popular Jurassic Park-themed Flying Dinosaur rollercoaster.

That’s right: the rollercoaster stalled in mid-air and the patrons could do nothing about it for two whole hours.

Reports from local media say the rollercoaster stopped after an abnormality was detected and a safety mechanism came into play.

As soon as the ride stopped, staff guided passengers down to safety through an aisle on the side of the rollercoaster.

The incident did not deter visitors from queuing up to ride the Flying Dinosaur, though one mother of three from Hiroshima is quoted as saying: “It’s scary to think (about) if we had been on board. I don’t want to ride it anymore.”
