An unidentified man who frequents the Engen in Heidedal, Bloemfontein was caught stealing slabs of chocolate and finally had to admit to his crimes when confronted by the store's staff.

The manager of Engen Heidedal, Papi Matsa, says he has been watching the man for some time and knew his modus operandi, making it easy to catch him. In CCTV footage, the man can be seen walking into the store, casually carrying on with a conversation on his phone. He goes straight to the chocolate aisle and, after talking to the person on the phone for a few seconds, grabs one of the chocolate slabs. He then hides it in his pants and walks out.

He goes back to his car and is content that he has pulled off yet another successful chocolate heist. Apparently feeling overly confident about his abilities, the man came back to the same store the next day. This time, the staff were ready to confront him.

According to the Daily Sun, when the man entered the store the next day doing his regular phone call routine, "the cashiers shouted at him". Realising that his plan had been foiled, the man put the chocolates back on the shelf and left.

The video, which has been viewed over 200,000 times on Facebook, has people amused by how strong the man's sweet tooth must be for him to go to such lengths. Some began calling him "Sugar Daddy".

Concerns were raised about how the man would be punished for his crime.

The man may not show his face at this particular Engen again, but his love for chocolate is not likely to end any time soon.
