On Monday morning Robbie spoke to John Laffnie De Jager about The Night of the Coaches which took place last night. The event invites coaches from various sports sectors to talk about their trade in an effort to get athletes, parents and coaches to learn from those who have succeeded in the highest level.

As The Complimentary Breakfast prepares to enter its 4th year as a breakfast show in 2015, Rian thought it would be a good idea to send Doepie to speak to some of coaches and let them coach the team on what they have done right as a Breakfast show and what can be improved upon in 2015.

Listen to what JL De Jager (tennis coach), Corrie Van Zyl (cricket coach), Elize Kotze (netball coach) and Naas Botha (rugby coach) had to say about the show here:

About:

John-Laffnie de Jager, South African Davis Cup Captain, felt the need for our top coaches in various sports to sit down and talk about their trade. By making it a public event, he hopes that other coaches, parents, athletes, schools and federations can learn from those who have succeeded at the highest level.

Night with the Coaches, presented by The Matchpoint Foundation in association with Active Express, took place at Midstream College in Pretoria on the 20th of November 2014, and included the following coaches and athletes:

Naas Botha and Franco Smith (Rugby), Corrie van Zyl (Cricket), Elize Kotze (Netball), Cameron van der Burgh (Swimming), Emmarie Fouche (Athletics), Lindsay Wright (Hockey), Kevin Curren (Tennis) and specialists Dr Sherylle Calder (EyeGym) and Dr Richard Sutton (Strength and Conditioning).

It was hosted by John-Laffnie and top ATP television commentator Robbie Koenig. This will become an annual event and forms part of the GPTCA Tennis Coaches Course that week, also presented at Midstream College.
