Is it acceptable to miss work because of a rude comment?

We understand that mental health is important but there are lines that workers shouldn't cross...

Getting an internship isn't always an easy feat. So, when one does get the opportunity, it is only natural for them to make the most of it.

Well, at least that's what we believe. But not everyone thinks the same and as much as we can appreciate that, sometimes it can be something of a negative.

Especially when you work in a team dynamic. Working in a team means that you play a pivotal role in a group and when you fail to do your part, the team dynamic can essentially fail.

One intern that really went off the rails stayed away from work for a whole week.

Now, if you are ill, granted it makes sense to stay at home, but his reason was less than kosher.

He works at a dating startup app for Jewish people and the team discussed it during an online meeting.

It's obvious that the rest of the team wants to laugh because it is quite frivolous, to say the least. But they hold themselves back out of respect for his feelings.

We are all about preserving one's mental state of mind, but not coming to work because your feelings were hurt doesn't really cut it in any workspace that we know of.

After watching some of the other videos, we are suspicious that this might all be a facade to create relatable content on their account.

MORE FROM JACARANDA FM

We get a sense of things in the next video where the boss man tells Dylan that he was hired to promote the dating app, but all his TikToks are about him missing work.

Dylan also seems to have an issue with Sam, who is the HR guy.

We have seen this before from another American company, where the intern/social media person does TikToks creating drama at work to go viral.

Not sure if this is a Gen-Z characteristic or how we feel about it. Nevertheless, it was entertaining to watch in the first instance.
