This woman was inspired to 'Just Do It' and sent her resume to Nike on a cake

It's certainly is tricky standing out in the crowd these days, especially with people marketing themselves on social media so aggressively.
But if you take the time and focus in on your qualities and what you have to offer, you too can make an impression.
We've heard of stories where people have not given up on their dream jobs. With one guy actually being rejected by Google 39 times before finally getting a job there.

Safe to say then that anything is possible with the right formula. All you have to do is figure out yours.
We came across a story on LinkedIn shared by a woman, her name is Karly Pavlinac Blackburn. After doing some research she found out that Nike would be hosting several important people on 'Just Do It' Day.
She mentions that she also found out that within Nike there is a division called Valiant Labs, which is a startup incubator for Nike ideas. Her mission, to create a stir on the day and get noticed.
We have got to say that we are already loving the way this woman thinks. Far too often we let fear rule our decisions, and we end up staying in the same place. But she chose to be bold, and bold is bountiful, regardless of the outcome.
After taking some time to brainstorm with a former colleague, she was told to "do better...and show up in a creative way".
So she decided to send them an edible cake that had an image of her resume/CV on the top. The challenge hereon was to navigate the plan to get the cake from North Carolina all the way to Beaverton, Oregon (over 4,000km).
Karly was determined and managed to get the cake and hired an Instacart driver to help with delivering. Amazingly enough her driver, Denise Baldwin, felt it her mission to get the cake to the right people at Nike.
She refused to leave the cake at the front desk but rather insisted to take the cake up to the right person. All this whilst holding a sleeping baby in one arm.

What started of as a mission to get noticed by a reputable and well established brand, turned into an inspiring story. Karly revealed what Denise said to her:
“You have inspired me. This was meant to be. I am a mom and I am tired of doing Instacart. I know I have more abilities and qualifications to get something better. I'm so glad this worked for the both of us.” (LinkedIn)
Karly went on to share that the fact that she inspired one person meant so much to her and this was the reason she wanted to share her story on LinkedIn, on the chance that it inspired more people.
The success in it all came with the more than 4,600 comments, and the abundant job comments, and this was not just for her but for Denise and her former colleague.
