Why are people so reckless with children?

Taking care of your child is such a huge responsibility. It is something that many people struggle with when it comes to handing over that responsibility to another person.

But at some point you have to hand over the torch to a teacher or caregiver, because you have to work. Unless of course you don't then this is not for you.

However, even then you have to realise that taking care of a newborn, an infant or toddler comes with its challenges. And entrusting another person with that responsibility is a huge deal.

In this case it was a couple who had their 17-month-old baby going to daycare.

Due to the negligence of the daycare provider, the baby became unresponsive.

The child was strapped into a car seat for nap time and was left unsupervised. Her daycare provider stepped out to a doctor's appointment, and when she returned baby Mia wasn't breathing.

Her parents were distraught as they did not know that she was left in a car seat.

And we actually don't understand why the daycare provider would do such a thing. Someone has entrusted you with the safety and wellbeing of their child, how could she take that so lightly?

This is why it is so important for any caregiver to be aware of the safety measures of caregiving. For instance, it is not safe to leave the baby strapped into the car seat for an extended period of time.

Many people shared their sympathies with the family and distrust of daycare workers.
