200 Johannesburg families homeless after Gauteng floods

Johannesburg Emergency Services have confirmed that some 200 families have been left homeless in Soweto after flash floods swept through the area this weekend.
This comes after heavy rains led to flash flooding across various areas of Gauteng.

Emergency spokesperson, Nana Radebe, says they have received numerous calls from residents regarding flooding.
"We have two incidents, where an 8-year-old passed away at eMhlangeni and we have another incident at uMsawawa where we are still searching for a person that was swept away on Saturday night,"
"For now, disaster management is also still busy consolidating a list of people who are affected."
"We have over 200 families that have been recorded in Kliptown, Soweto and parts of Riverlea," says Radebe.
Meanwhile, Tshwane Emergency Services spokesperson Charles Mabaso has confirmed that a part of the ceiling collapsed at the China Mall in Centurion.
