ANC to advise Ramaphosa not to sign Copyright Amendment Bill

ANC Secretary General, Fikile Mbalula says he will encourage President Cyril Ramaphosa not to sign the Copyright Amendment Bill and Performers Protection Amendment Bill.

The party hosted a dialogue with the creative industry in Gauteng yesterday.
Artists have voiced concerns with some sections of both bills, saying they economically disempower them of ownership of their work.

Mbalula said the ANC seeks to correct that before the bill is enacted into law.
President Ramaphosa will meet with them on the 1st of April at the Union Building.
"From this meeting, I can assure you that we take your demands forward and support that the bill may not be signed," said Mbalula
