Billions to revamp health facilities

Health Minister Zweli Mkhize says close to R19 billion has been set aside to upgrade health facilities across the country.
Mkhize was speaking in Parliament during his department’s budget debate on Friday.
The minister said for South Africans to believe in National Health Insurance (NHI), facilities need to be upgraded.

Mkhize said the money will also be used to build new hospitals and clinics.
“The department has actually done a whole cost analysis and audit of the quality of the services and the cost it will take to revamp every or facility in the country.”
