Cabinet concerned over Zwane statement
Updated | By Maryke Vermaak
Cabinet on Thursday admitted to being concerned about Mineral Resources Minister Mosebenzi Zwane's statement on a judicial inquiry into SA banks, after they closed the accounts of the controversial Gupta family.

Minister in the Presidency, Jeff Radebe, briefed media on Thursday on the most recent cabinet meeting.
He said this matter was not discussed in this meeting, but admitted that cabinet is concerned.
Minister Radebe held his cards close to his chest, despite various questions pressing him on the issue.
Radebe did, however, admit Cabinet was concerned about Zwane's comments, but he said the matter has been elevated to the highest office in the land.
"All of us are concerned about that matter that is why the President's office issued a statement repudiating the statement by Minister Zwane. Ministers are appointed by the President and the President indicated on Tuesday that he is dealing with the matter," he said.
Radebe was also questioned about the public spat between the Hawks and Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan.
"There was no discussion in Cabinet about the investigation by the Hawks of the Minister of Finance."
