City Power working to restore power in Fordsburg

City Power spokesperson Isaac Mangena says the outage at the Fordsburg substation has dumped several areas in and around the Joburg CBD into darkness.

"We are responding to an outage at the Fordsburg substation. We are not sure what the cause is but the team is out there to investigate and ensure that we restore power.

"This affects power supply to some areas around the CBD of Joburg and areas to the east of Johannesburg."

The restoration time has not yet been established as technicians are still investigating the cause of the out.

"We will be able to determine the ETR when we get the information on what the cause is and where the issues are,” says Mangena.
