A man accused of killing his teenage cousin has abandoned bail in the Cullinan Magistrates Court on Thursday.

Owami Visagie's lifeless body was discovered after a missing person's case was opened with police when she failed to return home last month.
It's alleged the accused Chris Mthethwa was the last person seen with Visagie when he went to fetch her from her boyfriend's house the night she disappeared.
The 30-year-old reportedly went to Visagie’s home around 10 pm and pretended he was also looking for her.
Mthethwa was arrested the next day after the deceased’s boyfriend confirmed to her mother that she had left his home with the accused.
“Mthethwa and went to the house where [he] was a gardener and found the lifeless body of the deceased with her hands and feet tied with a cloth inserted on her mouth.
“When Mthethwa heard that the community was looking for him he handed himself over to the police when he was arrested and remanded in custody,” said National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Lumka Mahanjana.
The matter was postponed to 21 May for further investigation.
