As Nhlamu Dlomu steps into her new position as CEO of KPMG South Africa - crime fighting unit, the Hawks, says it's willing to assist in investigations following calls for a probe into alleged fraud and corruption at the firm.

The DA said yesterday that it submitted a statement by KPMG International to the Hawks. The unit's Hangwani Mulaudzi say they’ll first study the report before making a decision on what to do.

"It will depend on the allegations being made. We will then be able to make a decision as to whether there'll be a case or not that needs to be investigated,"  he says.

This comes after former boss, Trevor Hoole and several other senior executives resigned after the fallout over the firm's work with the Gupta family, and the South African Revenue Services.
