Eskom CFO resigns

Anoj Singh has resigned from his position as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Eskom.
Singh resigned on Monday night, when his attorneys sent his formal letter to the newly appointed Eskom board.
Eskom spokesperson Khulu Phasiwe says the Board accepted his resignation.

Singh and former Eskom CEO Matshela Koko are expected to appear before parliament to account for mismanagement of funds at the power utility.
Phasiwe says despite his resignation, Singh will have to face the committee, since parliament's processes are different from that of Eskom.

"As a result, according to their plan, Mr Singh will have to be in parliament this afternoon, together with Mr Koko who is expected to be in parliament tomorrow."
A new Eskom board was appointed over the weekend.
Jabu Mabuza has been appointed as the new chairperson to head the power utility.
