Eskom continues to suffer from municipalities not paying their bills

Eskom's acting CEO Jabu Mabuza says the entity remains crippled by the amount of municipalities not paying their electricity bills.
This comes after the state-owned entity reported a net loss after tax of R20.7 billion for the latest financial year.
Eskom executives briefed the Parliament's committee on public enterprises on its annual report on Wednesday where they disclosed the current state of the power entitiy.

Mabuza said that the government must foot the bill for those who cannot pay for their services as municipal debt is at its all time high.
Finance Minister Tito Mboweni tabled the Special Appropriations Bill, in July in order to provide an additional R59 billion to Eskom to meet its operational obligations.
